West Kentucky
There are some questions that come to mind when I read your post. We custom applied some fungicide this year and noticed on some farmers we had to adjust our wheel spacings to match there planting style, planting widths, etc. Can the wheel spacing be changed in the field on the JD. Did they run down more corn when they were on the guess row or about the same all the way across. I will say that if you hit a guess row, sometimes it is very difficult to stay on row. Wasn't a problem with fungicide because we could just skip-over, but that couldn't be done with nitrogen. I guess what I am trying to say is that if you feel they wouldn't take the time to do a good job then you should hold them to the fire, but if you feel like they did the best they could do then I would think the 200 bushel figure was more then fair. By the way, we are farmers so my intention is not to stick up for the applicator.
