Centralia, MO | I bought some a few years ago when a seed rep I had known for years switched to AV. My first clue of a problem was that they pitched "seed chosen for my area" but the varieties they wanted to sell they showed in test plots in IL. Well my soil is just about nothing like IL soil. Well I planted some anyway and then we had a big storm in August. On two different farms five miles apart, I had fields of AV right beside fields of Pioneer on equally prepared ground and planted the same day, all BT varieties by the way. Well you guessed it, the AgVenture went down in a big way and the Pioneer stood perfectly and ended up outyielding the AV by 30-40 bu. End of story for AV. | |
