Subject: Re: Nitrogen need in corn question...new farmer

Ilderton, Ontario
There is a website called Go Corn. It is a resourse site for Ontario growers. It may have some relevance to you and your operation. It has on it some calculators. They may not be perfect for you, but they atleast get you thinking about what adjustments to make to the old standard 1lb/bu. There is a corn nitrogen calculator, as well as a manure calculator. Be prepared to have to do some homework. Know your manure analysis. There are defaults to use, but nothing is better than knowing what you have. A contributor to the above mentioned site was Tony Vyn, now of Purdue, previously with UofG, my alma mater.
