EC MN - Hour North of 'The Cities'
Do you plant beans on the old corn stalks?

How do you clear off the old stalks and root balls?

Thinking about making strips in the same spot year after year to be placing fertilizer in the same area (except the broadcast for wheat), and would like to always be 'on the row' with corn and beans. Less chance of compaction, mellower soils, and more chances for new roots to follow old channels. This would also allow us to be 'building' our fertilizer levels in one spot over time without the cost of RTK for now (follow old rows), and make a better seedbed for early season growth.
