| This past week, I attended a session (someone from Penn State was lecturing) on cover crops and they concluded as you are purporting much the same. The comment was made that forage radishes have a very fast decomposition rate. I left my notes at the office, but as I recall Oats and radishes were ranked some of the better scavengers of nitrogen in the fall. I like the cover crops that winter kill, assuming you can get them planted early.
