3-18-18 would be very expensive as a soil builder. Not a bad starter fertilizer, but the cost doesn't lead to the ability to "build" soils very far. Dry fertilizer would typically let you apply more nutrients from a build up standpoint. Use some kind of sulfate Sulfur if you want it to do you much good. Either Ammonium Sulfate (Dry), or Ammonium Sulfate liquid, or Ammonium Thio-Sulfate liquid possibly blended with 28%N, or even Potassium Thio-Sulfate liquid. There are a number of ways to accomplish this depending on your wallet, and you ideas of how you want to go about it.
