SW Ontario | In the last 40 days and 40 nights (HUH) we have only got 31mm, or about 1.25".
Reading alot of these posts, it sounds like some farmers better start gathering up pairs of animals.
BTW, I am from soutern Ontario. On top of the lack of rain, nearly the entire month of Nov has been cloudless skys.
Corn harvest has been marching along nice, with storage and drying being the main holdup.
The forecast looks good for the next week, and by the end of the month many farmers will be done.
It is miraculous that we are this far ahead, considering how bleak things looked at the end of... well, let's call it summer.
Good luck to everyone.
I certainly feel for some of you guys for the conditions you are going through. Where we are however, we are used to wet corn and wet harvest conditions. Huge corn dryers, huge tires, and 4wd are the norm here. I am sure it is a big challenge when you are ill equiped for such conditions.
It is funny to hear of guys complaining when their corn is above 20%. Putting corn in the bin out of the combine here just never happens.
