Vincennes, IN | We've been planting beans in 20" rows since my grandpa bought a notill Allis Chalmers planter back in the 60s/70s. Works well for us. They are just wide enough that the sprayer fits down the rows (and also fits down 30" corn rows on the same wheel spacing). Yields are just as good as the neighbors, even in late, double crop situations. Had a neighbor help finish up planting double crop beans this year and the yield was not statistically different from his 15" rows to our 20" rows.
You didn't mention why you want to change to 20" spacing. If you already have equipment for 15" rows, I don't know if I'd spend the money going wider.
