Mississippi Delta | Nothing crazy about your idea at all. I did almost the same thing a few years ago when I first planted corn. I was farming rice and soybeans and wanted to plant a little corn for a rotation. Had a neighbor who was a cotton farmer. We did a little "swapping out". I had an RTK autopilot on one of my tractors, he didn't. I offered to row up ALL his cotton ground with the RTK in return for use of his hipper and planter. Being that his ground was all sandy cotton ground and mine is all buckshot I was able to get his done when I couldn't work any of mine. Worked out great for the both of us. I am sure there are some guys down there that don't have a combine, (cotton farmers) maybe you could shell a little corn for them or cut some beans in return for use of a hipper or bedder roller. | |
