The Raven needs a handshaking cable, this is possible to make but it is easier buying an off the shelf one. There needs to be pins linked together at each end of the cable.
Once over the was a diagram in the back of the Raven operators manual, I'm thinking of the Raven 660 here.
I'm sure the serial protocol used to be in there as well.
