Any nitrogen fertilizer is going to leach from sandy soil once it is converted to the nitrate form and you have enough rain to take water out out the top soil and all forms of nitrogen fertilizer eventually get to the nitrate form due to microbial action in the soil.


So, I guess the question is, how fast does it convert to the nitrate form? As I understand it, the urea converts to ammonia gas, than to ammonium, so it should stick around if incorporated.
