Subject: RE: gypsum on soil

We are going to try some this year for the first time, we are going to try some where lime doesnt seem to help much, and try some to help some compaction issues.  We are also running a variable rate gypsum program to see if the is much benefit to it. Our soils are so high mag that we need a source that has more calcium in it.  Look at your soil tests if you have high Mag levels then try finding some HI CAL lime or use some gypsum.
