Subject: Inline vs. V Rippers

Massachusetts
There aren't any inline rippers around here, most guys use 'V' rippers. Except here we call them 'subsoilers' or 'panbreakers.' Like this:

Do inline subsoilers work much differently? I read that they draft harder, but what advantage do they offer in exchange for drafting harder?
