another possible option ??  

"here" we plow and at the end of the year after cleaning the bottoms I spray on a paint that has NO hardener in it.  JD "soft black coating" is the only place I've found it. but it does keep the bottoms rust free and it rubs right off soon as the dirt hits the plow the next fall. I've actually went 2 years not plowing and the plow bottoms were still completely rust free.

Yes you would have to rub the paint off but it comes off easy, and the animals won't lick the paint off like grease.





That JD "soft black" coating is very easy to remove if you wet it with diesel fuel.
It just melts.
