I should have said that I wanted to use the hyd oil in an old 1974 tandem truck that has a leaking seal on the steering gear. I put the last quart of steering fluid in last week, and haven't replenished my stock. If I still had some power steering fluid, I'd mix it in a jar with hydraulic oil and make sure they are compatible. Thanks for the input.

I have about a 50% average of "fixing" leaking old power steering systems by adding a product called "TransX " It is a seal sweller, and often stops leaks in worn or dry steering or trans seals. If the seal is cracked or torn, it will not help.
