Subject: SUNDAY: National Check Your Drawbar Bolts Day

Mid-Missouri
After unhooking the 8430 with the super heavy duty drawbar support with clevis from the graincart, and hooking up the v-ripper in the dark, we found a surprise. We went to slide the hitch to the side to clear the leading ripper shank and found two of the three bolts that hold the clevis on were gone. The front, third bolt was loose and slightly bent. This tractor has 350 hours on it and maybe a total of 60 hours of drawbar use. I thought after the 4850, we would be done with drawbar bolt/support issues. If I wouldn't have decided to try the "new" ripper out in the dark, there may have been an accident with the graincart. Be careful.
