The zerk he is tallking about is just behind the electric clutch that controls the head off/on. The zerk is between the electric clutch and the primary gearcase. You have to turn the machine over by hand to locate the zerk. When you grease this pump alot of grease in it till you feel it full. It takes a lot of grease pumps to get the grease back in the area that it needs it. Just a few pumps will do you no good. I speak from $$ experience. This is on a JD 50 series walker machine that I have.

By the way when this fails it makes a loud, expensive, grinding noise! I had been just pumping a few shots in and this doesn't do the job.

BTW I think the the 9500,9600 series combines don't have this zerk. I don't know if they have the same problem though.
