On some less-ag forums I visit, first they bash corporate farming with all the govet welfare. Market prices should pay for farming.

Now with prices up a bit, oh my, farmers are making too much, something should be done to keep food costs down.

One can point out it can't be both ways, but that doesn't sink in.....

Then it's all ethanol's fault, we shouldn't have any subsidy on ethanol, & shouldn't be using food for fuel by gosh.

I wish the govt weren't into subsidising anything at all. Let market forces create a good ecconomy. Govt should be regulating bad business situations, not creating them with bad plans & govt money to keep the bad plans going.

Since that won't happen, ag needs to get it's share of the pie too, or die. I hear you, a starter-subsidy should have been designed to reduce as the market comes into it's own. I agree.
