| the banging...ratcheting noises i was hearing was the rock trap chain coming apart...the sprocket on the top of the feeder house had a roll pin in it instead of a cotter pin and it sheared it...didnt know it but the sproket was walking out since the pin was sheared or shearing and i am quessing the chain was splipping or jumping around and causing it to plug...no damage to the sprokets but i got a new 60# heavy duty chain(the old one was tore all to pieces)...smooth as silk and no noises....think i got it fixed...thanks guys for all the replies and ideas
