| Our average gain is 75 bushel +-. If your average gain is only 40 or 50 bushel it may not pencil out. However here in northern Nebraska we like the irrigation for the consistent yeilds. In a dry year irrigation will gain us 125 - 150 bushel. Same farms on a good year may only benefit 30 - 50 bushel. By irrigating we are pretty certain to grow 200 bushel. So our biggest variable -rain- is certain with a pivot. It is nice to be confident of a crop, the banker likes it also. | |
