| We have run 7/8 dorper rams, but crossed them with non-dorper ewes. The hair thing never interested me. I like the bodies on a Dorper. Thicker then a Dorset. You will have nice lambs, but I can't tell you anything on the hair. If you are new to sheep, I sure wouldn't start out with more then 30. The learning curve is pretty high and be prepared to put in the time with them. I've seen too many disasters where operators thought sheep take care of themselves.
