SC | Black layer happened so late that the dry down phase has been cut extremely short. Granted it is going to slowly dry but nothing like it would if we had black layered in Aug/Sept. Lack of heat units throughout the year was a killer. Tough call to make with all the disease pressures out there, might be able to have a little better quality if you got in now but then again you're gonna burn a ton of propane or eat alot of per point drying docks at the elevator. Test weights are just going to be pitiful for just about everyone because the kernels won't be as dense due to the lack of dry down and drying things hardly ever improves that. Damned if you do, Damned if you don't, like you said the bright side of things is the yields. | |
