You most likely do not need that backup battery. On some older systems, the supply voltage would drop low enough in certain circumstances (raising the header while cutting at night (lights on)) to make the display reboot. The battery kit is designed to supply adequate voltage to the display in case the battery voltage drops too low. (basically serves as a UPS for the AFS display). The internal battery in the display does not do anything to power the display; it just supplies a tiny voltage to maintain the internal clock, etc.

If you run into this, you can get the kit and install it, but I wouldn't bother unless you have problems.

All relays, etc, should be included on the cab harness, so inside the cab you should be set. Latest software for the YMIU is 2.2. For the display is 21.2.
