Macon, IL | Engineer in the gas distribution. He has been meeting with local elevators. They have informed Ameren they expect to be drying into Jan or Feb. Ameren is concerned that if it gets very cold that they can't supply enough pressure to elevators and residential heat-and would need to temporarily shut down elevators in those situations.
He said a couple elevators were considering switching to propane as they could not have the shutdown.
Just another thing I have never heard of before. I wasn't old enough to remember 1973 harvest-but sure learning a lot this year. | |
