Adjust the tilt channels to get your knife as low as possible without plowing dirt, run dial a matic on low as much as possible, and make sure the knife is set up right. The hold down clips should be holding the knife down to the guards tight enough that you can just barely wiggle the knife. If you have excessive play, I'd suggest getting the Crary adjustable hold down clips. They're a little pricy, but last night being able to tighten them down was the difference in getting all the beans. If you use the crary clips with much pressure on the knife you'll eventually need to put crary sections on instead of JD duralites. Also make sure your skid shoes don't have dirt built up behind them. Good luck.
