roaming | most "free" sites will place advertisements on your site, and will require your URL to look something like "www.thefreesite.com/mytoyshow". You're also often limited in terms of layout, design, etc. If these terms are acceptable to you, then a free site from Yahoo or one of the other major providers will probably work fine.
Otherwise, you may want to lease space on a shared host, which can be done monthly or yearly. This will provide you with much more control over the site. You can also then purchase your own domain name (www.mytoyshow.com) and use it for the site. If the toy show will be held every year, it may be worth it to just purchase annual hosting (can be very cheap), and leave the site up year round, rather than having a temporary site, which may confuse someone if they go back to look for it later. | |
