We have a lot of young "Alberta children" - those that worked in the oilfields - come back and farm their parents 160 or 320 acres. They usually start out growing canola, and they grow the first variety they see on TV. Sad, but true...
I think for the rest of us, who do this for "real", talking with others, looking at plots, seeing what's growing in the neighbour's fields, and listening to the sales pitch your agronomist gives you is far more important.
Syngenta had this absurdly big ads in the Western Producer for Broadband... I didn't bother with them at all. When it was time to get herb. for barley, I had a look at what was available for the weeds we have, and then found pricing... based off of that, and recommendations from my agronomist, we went with Broadband. The Ad had absolutely nothing to do with it. | |
