Got it in one!

Gairdner is the main malting variety grown in this area. Yields well and stands better than most, I hate harvesting flat crops. Feed varieties will yield better but we have a good shot at malting here so we stick to the malting varieties and hope for a price premium. Some Fitzroy grown in the last few years with mixed success.
