Marketing advisors are not a cure all. My personal opinion is to find one who gives you the information you want. I'm not good at following other peoples advice. But I am always looking for good information to help me make decisions. I personally use a daily e-mail service that gives me the markets in a nutshell. I don't have to remember what day the monthly export inspections report comes out, and I can forget how many bushels of corn we are supposed to raise because it all shows up each day in my Inbox. Saves me time and keeps me up to date on the prices of commodities I raise. I don't pay a whole lot for this service, $100/year. It all comes down to personal opinion, and I don't personally think any one advisor is better than the other. The difference is in amount of involvement they have in marketing your personal bushels, and the price they charge for what they give you.
