Subject: RE: fertilizer in stip till

heres what what we use, 46-0-0,11-52-0,and 21-0-0-24, placed  6 to 7 in deep in a band. some of what i've done so far has been variable rate, based on the zones created by another person on ag talk. its working for us here. My acres have gone up every yr. and this is the 3 rd year. we start out in wheat stubble w/ just the P and ams, give the farmer an option of going to soybeans if its to wet come corn planting. now that the temps have dropped, i can start putting down the 46-0-0. I think the strip-till idea is working for most, the way i see it, is that the technology has caught up to the idea.  auto-steer being a big player, machines have gotten better, knives have gotten better. all in all, in most areas, its a benifit.

our fert RX is based off of soil tests.
