S.E. Nebr.
Dad bought his first new GMC stock truck back in early sixties. There were two brothers who would custom haul cattle back then. So on many Sundays Dad and the two brothers would haul cattle to Omaha. Our whole family went. We could fit four of us in the truck. I could stand straight up in the truck. I remember sleeping on the floor of the GMC on the way home. We would always stop at the Springfield cafe off Highway 50.

The Omaha stockyards back then was a thing of beauty with all the pens full of cattle. How you could walk on top of the pens to see your cattle. As I got older I would take the cattle in myself. Also I would take hogs in. Would sell to Producers back then. Boy have times changed. I have to go to our shareholder meeting tonight to see what we're going to do with our sow operation. Fun. Fun.
