Subject: Power for Edge.... tedbear and others

South central, Nebraska
Installed a new Edge monitor in a CIH 2388 combine. I wired it in by the book but I'm not sure it is very stable that way. I used the AMP plug for power source. It provides constant and keyed power as requested per installation instructions.

Just messing around in the yard, I have noticed problems when cycling the key on and off, the monitor will sometimes freeze, crash, lockup, or whatever? Even the cycle of starting the combine first thing will sometime crash the system depending on how long you take to cycle the key from on to engine start.

I'm sure we will have multiple cycle starts through the course of a normal day plus the times you cycle the key to set up header height control and such.

What would be the most stable way to rewire the power to keep the monitor stable? Would it be best to rewire the normal keyed power to constant power and just use the Edge power switch at the beginning and end of the day? Would this cause any other problems?

TIA
