I run my top load washer with no clothes, on the longest cycle, hot water, with a 1/2 cup of scented bleach. While the machine is filling I wash around the top of the tub, under the lid, & the outside of the washer & dryer. This works really good. Leave the lid open between loads. Can rinse the machine on cold after running the bleach through it.
