Better to have it on and a rain on it before the beans emerge. If no rain and the beans emerge, things start to get a little dicey, that's why I stopped using alot of pre residuals. Been burnt to many times. However in the past several years with all the spring rain we get anymore don't make much difference, can't get in the field's anyway.
