Subject: Raven 440 over rotating

I have a Raven 440 running a banjo 3 inch valve that can oscillate all the way around. Sometimes the Raven gets confused and it thinks that it's increasing the rate but the rate is actually decreasing. It will then continue to oscillate until it shuts off and the rate drops to zero. When it circles back around, it finds the rate and corrects itself. Other than minimizing speed settings with the valve is there a way to avoid this? The valve is a ball valve type.

This seems to happen, typically when I start a new pass and have a sudden jump in speed.

Thanks for any help you can give me!
