Southern MN | We have both. I personally like our bifold but it is only 32’ wide with no center pin. Would probably go with a hydraulic door just because of simplicity and strength. I have pushed quite a bit of snow with ours but am really careful when doing so. We always have something to move snow with in somewhere with an overhead door, probably wouldn’t put in a hydraulic door if only snow moving machine had to come out of the hydraulic door. The doors that go up and then swing out or that swing into the shed as some have suggested would seem to complicate to me what seems to be the regular hyd doors biggest selling points of strength and simplicity. Also our bifold doors has the swing down arms which come down so door can raise up all the way to make it open flush with shop ceiling, but those are now worn out along with the rollers. Not a big deal but maintenance that is never required with a hyd swing door. | |
