SW of Enid OK | I have lots of sand ground that I plant ceral rye, graze off and then graze crabgrass through the summer. Depending on the rain or lack of it, sandburrs can be very bad. I've had acres of them knee high. Pairs don't seem to mind them just watch for lumps in their jaws where one might get stuck. Stockers eat around them too. I've sprayed them with glyphos in the fall and burned the field but the burrs just come back next year. Only thing that helps is fert and timely rain. | |
