Galahad, Alberta | Actually Pokey, canola can weather quite well in the swath. Up here, once the canola is swathed, we just leave it to mature and go do other crops, and will usually do canola last, once all the other crops that are more prone to weather related quality loss are in the bin. Only hail, really strong winds, or monsoons will hurt canola in the swath. A gentle 1/2" of rain won't hurt it at all. In fact, it will actually thresh better after a rain as the pods and plant begin to rot a bit, making threshing and separation easier.
