Subject: RE: Agleader Incommand 1200 or Go16 ?

Near Intersection of I-35 & I-90 Southern Mn.
I have 3 InCommand 1200's through various trade up programs through the years. I move them around among three tractors, a Hagie Sprayer and a Deere Combine. I have one GPS 7500 unlocked and subscribed to TerraStar Pro C. I have two GPS 6500's on WAAS. This give me many combinations of equipment. For the most part is all interchangeable.

I consider one InCommand 1200 as my "Master" and it gets moved from the planting tractor to the Hagie sprayer and then to the combine. It works with Steer Command Z2 in the planting tractor and Steady Steer in the combine.

I use other Ag Leader modules with the planter, sprayer and combine. I use an Application Rate Module in the planter to monitor but not control starter fertilizer.

Another InCommand 1200 normally lives in an older tractor that gets mostly used for manure. It works with an Application Rate Module and a Yamatake meter on a hog manure rig. It steers that tractor via a Steer Command non Z2.

It appears that the new GO models do not at this time or maybe never will support the Application Rate Module. This in itself would discourage me from going to a GO model at this time. The Application Rate Modules could be replaced with legacy Liquid Control Modules running in Manual but the present arrangement works fine so getting a GO model involved would involve some other costs.

Yet on the other hand, newer products will likely come about that require the added capabilities of the GO display.

I don't know what to advise in your situation. You bring up some good arguments both ways. I do like the reassurance of having a spare InCommand available if my Master should go down. Typically I make a backups from time to time which I could use if I should need to bring one of the other InCommands into the planter, sprayer or combine. By having a fairly recent backup, I could restore one of the other InCommands without much loss of data.

Possibly there might be some InCommands available on the used market that would fit your situation. I'd be a bit suspicious of the first one shown on eBay below. The EVRARD tag seems out of place. Is this possibly a foreign model? If so I'm thinking this could create all kinds of issues.
