Subject: JD 750 drill - tillage radish/ryegrass question

hey folks,

I am designing a cover crop experiment to be planted ASAP and would like to compare tillage radish drilled on 7.5" rows vs. radish on 30" rows alternating with 3 rows of annual ryegrass.

One option would be to plant in 2 trips blocking off the unwanted rows but it sure would be nice to get everything planted in one pass.

The radish/ryegrass combo would only be 6 x 1/4 mile so I don't need to necessarily come up with a method that would work reliably for hundreds of acres.

I can imagine creating dividers so that I can keep the seed separate for the radish rows but would the JD 750 drill have a single setting that would give me an acceptable seeding rate for both radish and ryegrass?

The drill I will be renting does not have a small seed box.

Any suggestions?
