Finland, up there in north where noboby farms! | Stared yesterday whit twin row barley from heavy clay fields, 60-70 bu / acre. I'll expect 20% higher yeilds on better fields = better soils. Test weight was 71kg/hl (100 liters) ( bet you like that mesurement!) moisture 19%. These are good numbers for me, including the moisture. Takes 5 hours heat + cooling on a dryer.....not bad? Barley look's so so.....few green seeds and some dark colour from rainy seasons.
And it rains right now....don't know when we get out there again. Way grain prize is here, no point harvest if moisture is over 20%. We we just wait and see if weather corporates....
