Valley, NE | this is what a combination of couple recipes i have brought together:
(all ingredients proportions are roughly measured)
1/3 a loaf of white french bread cut into small cubes
2 tablespoons butter
medium handful of raisons (little over 1/2 cup???)
4 eggs
1 pint of heavy whipping cream
3/4 cup of sugar
1.5 teaspoon of ground cinnanmin
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
put your bread in the bottom of a non-stick casserole pan
melt butter and drizzle over the bread
sprinkle in raisins or anything else (can of fruit cocktail, ground up oreos, chocolate/butterscrotch/caramel chips or whatever)
in a mixing bowl combine and mix eggs, cream, sugar, cinnamin, and vanilla.
pour over the top of the bread
push bread pieces down with a fork so all the tops are "under" and soaking up the egg/cream mixture
let sit for 15-30 minutes so bread will soak up the mixture (i usually go somewhere around 20 minutes or so)
through in preheated oven at 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes or until the top when pressed down springs back or is spongy
next time i make it i am going to add some hersey's syrup to the cream and egg mixture for a chocolate bread pudding, maybe. different recipes i have seen and had involve fresh fruit, or broken up candy bars, anything that floats your boat that day
