I have both a small one (I think it does 4 pints) and a big one (does 10 pints). They're both Mirro, with weights. It's all I've ever used for canning. My mom never did the water bath. I too would recommend buying a new one. With pressure canners, you never want to guess...there is a very real danger if the canner is not in good condition.
