Subject: RE: Autopilot dog tracking.

Near Intersection of I-35 & I-90 Southern Mn.
I had a Trimble system on my 8120 for several years. During that time I replaced the short stub cable from the auto sense sensor to the main harness several times. This is a short cable with a round connector on one end and a Deutsch connector on the other. The wires in the stub cable are very small.

I would get an Auto Sense low voltage warning that alerted me to this problem. I did not experience dog tracking as you have so your problem may be different. It seems strange that it seems to work properly if the wheels are left in a certain position. Maybe a recalibration would be helpful.

I made an extension cable to go between the stub cable and the tractor harness. This was just a 4 pin Deutsch male to a 4 pin Deutsch female. This allowed me to tie band the Trimble stub cable in a fixed position and all turning and flexing took place in my extension. This seemed to lessen the need to keep replacing the expensive Trimble stub cable.

I'd try a recalibration.
