Subject: Re: Thinking about wineing

West Central Wisconsin
I made a batch last year. It's in bulk storage yet but when I get some time I'll bottle it. If you have a lot of pears you can get a really good pear flavor by using a higher ratio of fruit to water than what most recipes call for. I used a steam juicer to get the pure juice from the pears,(and other fruit) and added sugar, water, yeast, and other ingredients. If I had gotten more pears than I did I would have made it out of straight pear juice. Go to these web sites for info, books, supplies and recipes. http://www.midwestsupplies.com/products/ProdBySubCat.aspx?SubCat=19... Click on the wine making forum if you have questions located on the left side of the page. This is a great recipe book http://www.midwestsupplies.com/products/ProdByID.aspx?ProdID=5230 Here is a recipe from Jack Keller's web site. http://winemaking.jackkeller.net/request203.asp This will get you started if you are new to wine making. I would be happy to help you out in any way. Joe.
