Subject: White Muscle Disease, or similar?

SW Wisconsin
I have a jersey bull calf with some genetic potential, and he isn't thriving. I looked up White Muscle Disease, and it seemed to fit the symptoms. Caused by deficiency of selenium and vitamin E, I have MuSe on hand, based on his body weight the recommended dose was 0.25 cc. I gave him about 0.3 cc, and he perked right up for a couple of days. When he started slowing down again I decided to go for broke and gave him a full 1 cc. That was about a week ago, once again he perked right up, and now he seems to be slowing down again. I've heard you can give too much selenium, risk another shot or try something else? He was born 4/11, so just over 2 weeks old.

Edit to add: I gave the cows MuSe at dry off, but not the heifers. I've noticed a difference in vigor from calves out of cows vs heifers possibly attributable to that. This bull is out of a heifer.
