For my knees and my situation, going very low carb eating did the trick. My knees were getting to the point of needing replaced when we changed our diet five years ago. Within two weeks much of pain went away and within a month all of it. Like you said about the Umary, inflammation was the problem. Get rid of the inflammation and the pain goes away. I guess some of the foods or insulin or blood sugar or something was inflaming my joints and with the change in diet the problem went away. Has not came back.
