Straight graphite for the finger units is my understanding, doesn't take a lot, and was recommended to put it on top of the seed over the opening to the meter. Dad used to stir it in, don't recall that wearing anything out faster, but he did use more than the book called for.

OEM JD vac meters (cell disks) talc.

Running JD vac converted to Eset meters now, and supposed to use the 80/20 stuff. I suppose the graphite is to help prevent wear from the talc, a few more places that rub.
