We’ve chopped German and Japanese millet before. I actually prefer the sorghum, but the millets growing season is short and sometimes that’s all our rotation will allow. I would be looking at German as dry as you are. The two varieties weve tried are golden and r strain. Here I figure haying/chopping it about 45 days after it emerges. It should beat 2.5 ton to the acre. I actually just sent a test sample off on some silage yesterday I can let you know when the results come in.
