When I was a kid my parents shopped on Saturday morning and delivered eggs to some people.  Mom got 35¢ a dozen.  What was excess was sold to some company in another town and I have no idea how much my parents received from them.  That would have been in the mid 1950's.

I do remember that when we went home dad stopped at the dairy and we got ice cream, real ice cream.
